1974, Norway
Former librarian Henning H. Bergsvåg (born 1974) had his first collection of poems, ‘Newfoundland,’ published in 2000. Later he followed up with another three collections – most recently with ‘Across the river Tweed’ in 2010.
He studied at the Writing Academy in Hordaland, Norway, Gothenburg University and the University of Bergen. Together with collegue Tomas Espedal Bergsvåg organized the Bergen International Poetry Festival in 2000 and 2002. The festival had an emphasis on contemporary directions in poetry with an focus on the nordic countries, France and USA. Bergsvågs own poetry is communicating with works of writers like Jaques Roubaud, Leslie Kaplan, and Fredrik Nyberg.
Since 2007, Bergsvåg has been a member of the board of The Norwegian Writers’ Association.
